Holiday Boot Camp

A few weeks back Etsy started a campaign to help all their sellers get a jump and stay organized for the upcoming Holiday season - they're calling it Holiday Boot Camp and it has been the 'kick in the pants' I've needed to get motivated about Pursewna!  I'll admit that with sleepless nights thanks to my sick kiddo and lots of other things that NEED to get done RIGHT NOW, it's been hard to find the energy to hide myself in our guest room (where my sewing machine is now) and sew.  Boot Camp has already been a huge help. Each week Etsy sends out a Boot Camp newsletter with helpful articles, exercises and tips to work on.  One of the first exercises they had us do was create a mission statement - here's mine:

To provide lovely, one-of-a-kind accessories and decor to the masses by providing high quality items in fun and colorful fabrics and notions.  Pursewna will do it's best to not lose sight of the true meaning of the Holiday season and the magic it holds.

Sound good?

Another exercise they had us do was find a Boot Camp 'buddy' - someone else with an Etsy shop that you check in with periodically, ask for advice, send positive reinforcement to, etc.  Mine is:  Studio827KC - you can check out her fantastic Etsy shop for yourself:  Studio827KC's Etsy Shop.  She has some amazing stationary and homemade journals that might be JUST what you're looking for as a Christmas gift for that someone special.

Through a random find on Facebook I also found a great resource through Handmade Success and was able to download a FREE 2010-2011 Holiday Planner which has great organizational handouts for ensuring you have a complete holiday product line, plans for special Holiday marketing, Holiday promotion ideas, etc.  What GREAT stuff!  One section was on goals - here are mine for this Holiday season (as it pertains to Pursewna & my busines):

Holiday Season Goals:
1.  TO NOT STRESS OUT
2.  TO REMEMBER:  FAMILY FIRST!
3.  TO REACH GOAL OF $600 IN SALES
4.  TO SPREAD THE NEWS OF PURSEWNA AND WHAT WE OFFER
5.  TO PARTICIPATE IN AT LEAST TWO CRAFT SHOWS

Do you have any goals this Holiday season for your business or your personal life?  I think remembering family first and remembering the true meaning of what the holidays' actually are is something we ALL need to put on our list of goals.  :)
